Symbolisms of the Dragonfly
The word Dragonfly and the family it belongs to, Odonata, have evolved from the many myths associated with Dragonflies. It’s believed that Dragonflies are descendants of real life dragons and the name Odonata, derived from the Greek word for “tooth”, have inspired our bats as powerful, yet poised, weapons wielded by the fearless modern cricketer.

Every part of a Dragonfly symbolises change, from its life cycle to their ability to adapt to their environment - water, land and air. Flying through watercourse in and amongst our essential raw material Salix alba (willow) all connects to our game of cricket.

They are quick too, shifting at over 45 mph with the skill to hover and pose the freedom of 360° movement in six directions. We are talking a high performance aerial performer with 10 times less wing strokes but 20 times more power when compared to other insects, increasing the output and reward with minimal effort.

Unmasking its Beauty
The Dragonfly exhibits iridescence both on its wings as well as its body. This is the ability to show itself in different colours dependant on the angles and polarisation of light falling onto it. These magical properties are associated with unmasking the real self and removing the shackles cast on ones identity. It’s with this where Modern day cricketers are able to adapt to all conditions and challenges that face them on the pitch. Batting is not just about technique but also the mindset of the batter, positivity when arriving at the crease is essential.

Focus on Living in the Moment
Most of a Dragonfly’s life is lived as a nymph before a few months of flying. The cricket bat spends 15 years of its life as a willow tree. This is 15 years of growth, development and harvesting before being graded, hand-selected and hand-crafted into your bat. It’s at this point where its up to you to spread your wings and live life to the fullest and in the moment. This is what Dragonfly 360 cricket is all about - a no regrets, make it happen attitude.

Why the 360 bit?
With not just the ability to move in all six directions, the eyes of a Dragonfly are seriously cool too with 80% of a dragonfly’s brainpower dedicated to sight (like a cricketer’s ability to see and hit a ball). It’s the mind, movement and sight of the Dragonfly that allows it to see in all 360 degrees and predict the trajectory of it its prey, this makes it one of the most successful predators in the animal kingdom. The Dragonfly symbolises the uninhibited vision of the mind and the ability to see the limitations of the human self. The modern cricketer sees no obstacles - and the wagon wheel shows a true 360 degree ranges of shots.
